Welcome to the Taylor Housing Authority website. We are glad you have chosen to learn more about THA.  THA has been around since 1949. For more than 75 years we have been the primary provider of affordable housing in Taylor. THA will be celebrating their 75th birthday 2024.

Taylor Housing Authority administers two programs.
The public housing program, where we own the units and the housing voucher program where we subsidize the rent for families.

Taylor Housing Authority owns 46 public housing units which are located on seventh street and subsidizes the rent for approximately 200 families under the housing choice voucher program.  Each month THA pays local landlords approximately $160K as rental subsidies. The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) provides the funding for us to assist these families under the two programs.

Housing provides a foundation for families. Our goal is to provide our program participants with a safe and affordable home. We are currently working to rebuild new apartments at the former Avery apartment site. Our hope is to rebuild 70 apartments to increase affordable housing in Taylor. Living in a stable, adequate home which is affordable to the household yields a multitude of opportunities and stronger outcomes for children, youth, and adults.
